Former Cresco Girl Dead.
Many friends will be shocked to hear that Mrs. S. D. Leman (nee Alice Carman) died suddenly at her aunt’s home in Buffalo, N. Y., Tuesday, July 12th, with hemorrhage of the lungs. She was sick only about two minutes and she had a coughing spell and her last words were “I am choking to death.” She left Cresco about nine years ago and five years later she married Mr. S. D. Leman, of Dansville, Pa. She lived at Clearfield, Pa., and she was visiting with her aunt, who is a doctor, at the time of her death. She was planning on coming home in a couple of weeks. Her funeral services were held on Thursday and only near relatives attended. She left a husband, sister, four brothers and a mother and father to mourn over her. She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo, N. Y.
