Died from Inhaling Gas.
J. F. O’Brien of Lourdes, who formerly resided near the burg, was found in an unconscious condition in a Sioux City hotel last Saturday afternoon, from the effects of inhaling gas from a leaking gas jet in the room to which he had been assigned the night before. He had gone to Sioux City to consult with some parties in regard to South Dakota land and when found Saturday afternoon, he was still alive, but the physicians were unable to save his life.
Mr. O’Brien is a brother of Patrick O’Brien and Mrs. Edward Scholey, who resided about four miles southeast of Lawler and the remains will be brought here today for burial in Mt. Carmel cemetery. His brother and sister, and E. F. Canty and sisters, Mrs. M. Griffin and Mrs. C. V. Hand and her daughter Ella, and Thos. Griffin went to Lourdes to be present at the funeral services.
