Micheal Lee Willie, age 61 passed away peacefully at his home in Cresco, Iowa on August 31, 2019, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fayette, Iowa on Wednesday September 4, 2019 with visitation prior to services from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Grandview cemetery in Fayette, Iowa.
Mike was born in Manchester, Iowa on March 27, 1958 to Realto and Shirley(Kohl) Willie Jr. Mike attended Oelwein schools receiving his GED from NICC. He was united in marriage to Nita Rose Yearous on October 8th, 1976 in Marshalltown, Iowa and to this marriage 6 children were born.
Micheal's working life started as being a hog farmer for Trina farms where he was proud of his rewards. He later entered the trucking profession and enjoyed seeing the country when working for the Alum-Line company. His most previous employer was the Cliff Viessman, Inc. Micheal enjoyed fishing, especially with his sons and son-in-laws, hunting deer and coon, chess, football,(being a Packers fan) and most of all his grandkids!!
In addition to his wife, Nita of Cresco, he is survived by his children Elisa (Shane) Pinter, Torrey (Special friend Colinne McCann) Willie, Fallon (Jason) Hammon, Colton (Tessa) Willie, Zachary (Special Friend Kirsten Huinker) Willie, and Gannon ( Special Friend Zoe Thibadeau) Willie; 14 grandchildren Michaela, Josie, and Katie Pinter, Jacob Brackin, Savannah McCann,Rebel and Rose Willie, Kynlee and Jaxon Hammon, Raylen and Harlen Willie, Aaxtyn Willie and Kyler Huinker and Charlotte and Mercedi Willie; Sisters Vicky (Loren) Clark, Sherry Staton, Pam (Kevin) Cline and Brenda Willie and several brother and sister in-laws.
Micheal was preceded in death by his parents, Realto and Shirley Willie Jr.; an infant brother, Scott; mother and father-in-law, Cornelius and Gertrude Yearous; and a nephew, Joshua Yearous.
