PIERCE.
Laura Hall was born in Wisconsin February 7, 1854. She moved with her parents to Iowa in 1859 and settled in Butler county. There she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to C. W. Pierce on the 4th of March, 1875. Their home the following ten years was on a farm in Butler county near Parkersburg. In 1883 they sold the farm and moved to Jones county, where they lived for a number of years and then to Epworth for seven years, then to Kimball, S. D., for seven years more. About six years ago they came to Cresco which has since been their home.
Mrs. Pierce was a life-long Christian of exemplary life; a faithful wife and mother; a power for good in the community, and a useful member of the M. E church. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, daughter Grace and son Ralph, one daughter Bessie having died at Epworth in August, 1891, at the age of 15.
She departed this life Tuesday morning at 8 o’clock. Funeral services were conducted from the home Wednesday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. Gammons. Interment was in Oaklawn.
