Obituary.
Edward E. Welch was born in Cresco, Howard County, Iowa, Aug. 16, 1863, and lived here until he was 18 years of age. From here he moved to Mason City where he was employed on the C. M.& St. P. Ry. as brakeman and later as conductor. Jan. 3, 1888, he was married to Miss Libbie Solon, after which he moved to Des Moines where he has worked for the C. G. W. Ry. for the past 16 years. At the time of his death he was passenger conductor and one of the most faithful and trusted employees.
He leaves a wife, ten children, three brothers, two sisters and a host of friends to mourn his untimely demise.
Those who were present at the funeral: Dan Welch and wife, of Minne¬polis; John Welch, of Calmar, la.; John Rostratter and mother, of Staples, Minn.; Mrs. Tom Enright, of McCook, Neb.; Chas. Rostratter, of Denver, Colo.; Andy Solon and wife, of Sanborn, Ia.; Meart Solon and Mrs. McDevitt, Chas. and Meart. McDevitt, of Oelwein, Iowa.
He was buried from St. Anthony’s church in Des Moines, Iowa.
