Gene Bronner, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at his home in Cresco, Iowa.

Eugene “Gene” Michael Bronner was born December 1, 1947 in Cresco, the son of William and Hazel (Ihns) Bronner. He attended school in Cresco and graduated from Cresco High School. In 1969 he entered into the Army. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1971.

Gene returned from the service to rural Cresco to farm. It is on this same farm that he spent his entire life doing what he loved, farming. He raised hogs for many years and spent many seasons planting and harvesting crops.

He enjoyed lottery and scratch off tickets and gambling trips with his mother, Hazel. Gene took many day trips driving around the countryside, always making time to stop and visit.

Survivors include his brothers; Ronald Bronner of Cresco and Richard (Charlotte) Bronner of LaPorte City, IA, nieces and nephews; James (Julie Peterson) Bronner, Ryan Bronner, Neil (Kenda) Gleason, Russ (Annette) Ellingson, Scott (Nikki) Bronner and his beloved dog, Leonard.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Raymond Bronner.
