DEATH OF C. M. MUNSON
No better friend, more devoted or generous companion lives, no truer heart beats, than that which in Caleb Miles Munson, was on Wednesday last conveyd to "that bourne from which no traveller returns."
Born in Onondaga County, New York, January 25th, 1822, he was at the time of his death nearly 42 years of age. From the State of N. Y., he removed to Wyota in Wisconsin, where in July 1847 he was married to Merial R. Taft. While at this latter place he was engaged in the mercantile business which in 1855 on his removal to this place he continued here. Among the first settlers of the county, he ranked second to none for the enterprise and energy of his character or the integrity of purpose that prompted all his acts.
But he is dead--removed in the prime of life from "war and the rumors of war," to that home where the weary are at rest and the wicked cease from troubling.
He was an honored and respected member of that fraternity whose
Is the secret sympathy,
The silver link, and silken tie,
Which heart to heart and mind to mind,
In body and in soul can bind.and with his remains in the grave, by his fraternal brothers were deposited:
"Green leaves of summer skies
Blest type of Paradise!"in the fulll hope and confident belief that he and they
"When death's dread shades depart
With them in glory shall spring forth again."But he is gone! His memory and his virtues dwell in the hearts of his friends, neighbors, brothers, wife, and children; his mortal part earth claims as its own; his spirit is God;s who gave and who hath taken away.
