Fred Paul, living near Schley, passed away last Saturday afternoon after a time of severe suffering from blood poison resulting from a corn shredder accident. He was at work at Jacob Wilde's, Nov. 9th, and in feeding the shredder had a hand caught and badly lacerated. The funeral takes place today conducted by Rev. Pless, with interment in New Oregon cemetery.

OBITUARY.
Frederick Paul was born March 14, 1862, at Nussbach, Bavaria. When six years of age he accompanied his parents to the United States, settling in Stevenson county, Ill. In 1882 he was united in marriage to Charlotte Derr, and to them seven children were born, two sons and five daughters, all of whom survive him. In 1890 he moved to Howard county which was his home until his death, November 28, 1908, from lockjaw, resulting from the laceration of one of his hands in a corn shredder accident.
The funeral occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 1st, conducted by Rev. Pless, with interment in New Oregon cemetery.
