Emma Linda Sniteman was born April 7, 1830, in Pennsylvania. She was married on Nov. 7, 1865, to John P. Clark, at Muncy, Pa., by Esq. P. I. Painter. In 1869 they moved to Michigan and later in the same year to Allamakee county, Iowa. In 1875 they came to Howard county which was their home until their death, in which her husband preceded about nine years ago. Both were members of the M. E. church.
Mrs. Clark passed away at five o’clock in the morning on July 9, 1908, aged 78 years, 3 months and 2 days, at the home of her only surviving child, Mrs. Henry Smith, at New Oregon, at whose home the funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. John Gammons officiating. Burial was in New Oregon cemetery.
