R. J.{?} Alexander, a former Cresco resident passed away Sunday night at the home of his grandson, Roy Noblett, at Cooper, Iowa, with whom the deceased has made his home for some time. The remains will he brought to Cresco for interment in Oak Lawn and the funeral services will take place in the Baptist church tomorrow afternoon at four o'clock.

The remains of M. B. Alexander, a former Cresco resident were brought to Cresco on Wednesday for interment. He passed away at the home of his grandson, Roy Noblett, at Cooper, Ia., May 24, 1908, aged 82 years.
The following short sketch of Mr. Alexander’s life was written by the deceased while still a resident of Cresco.
“M. B. Alexander was born in Oneida County, New York, February 6, 1826. Was converted in Peterboro, Madison County, New York, in 1844. On Dec. 5, 1849, was married to Miss Louisa M. Culver at Perryville, Madison County, New York, at her father’s house. In 1859, moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, and there united with the Baptist church. In 1861, moved to Dodge County, Wisconsin, and there united with the Baptist church by letter. In 1865, enlisted at Madison, Wisconsin, in Co. D 47 Regt. Wisconsin Volunteers. In 1867, moved to Waukesha again. In 1868, moved to Iowa and united with the Vernon Springs Baptist church by letter.”
The funeral was held in the Baptist church in which he was a deacon for several years, Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock, conducted by Rev. Hill.
The choir composed of Mrs. W, Owens, Mrs. Geo. Miller, Herbert Durfey and Lynn Kellow rendered the favorite hymns of the deceased.
Interment in Oak Lawn.
