Mrs. W. D. Darrow passed away on Tuesday morning, at the advanced age of 86 years. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at the M. E. church. We will publish an obituary of the deceased in our next issue.

DARROW.
Eveline Carpenter was born in Orwell, Oswego county, N. Y., July 17, 1822, and after a brief illness she departed this life at four o’clock, Tuesday, May 5, 1908, aged 85 years, 9 months and 18 days.
When a child she moved with the family from New York to Wisconsin. In the spring of 1856 they moved to Howard county, Iowa.
March 4, 1857, she was married to W. D. Darrow, who died Nov. 25, 1905.
She leaves as immediate relatives to mourn her loss, a daughter, Mrs. C. D. Durfey of Cresco, and four sisters, Mrs. M. Taft, Mrs. Jane Nichols, Mrs. J. B. Mitchell and Mrs. W. H. Patterson, all of Cresco.
The funeral services were held on Thursday last at 2:30 p. m., in the M. E. church, of which she had been a member since childhood. Interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
