DIED--In New Oregon, Iowa, Sept. 17th, 1862, Aladdin L. Lee, aged 34 years.

The subject of the notice was born at Fitch Bay, Canada East, in the year 1828. He resided in that place till the year 1850, he then moved West. From 1850-1859 he taught music in the states of Ill., Wis., and Ia. About this time a long and severe illness of lung fever--from which he never fully recovered--obliged him to change his profession to that of merchandising, which he followed as long as health would permit.

He was married in the fall of 1861, to Miss Minerva D. Pullman, daughter of the Rev. N. Pullman of New Oregon.

In the month of May, he visited his native Canada, where he remained two months, hoping that a change of climate with the skill of physicians might better his condition, but all of no avail. June 24th, he left a large circle of dear friends, and the place of his childhood for his home in the West under the care of his brother, T. W. Lee and wife. Weak and emaciated, he suffered much during his journey of five days.

He died peacefully, leaving a beloved wife and infant son, with many kind friends to mourn his loss.--As a neighbor and citizen he was much respected by all who knew him.

His pulseless hands upon his breast,
Are folded in unbroked rest;
Closed the blue eyes, whose buring light
Made earth--to US WHO LOVED HIM--bright:--
Closed; aye, for death has dimed their sight.

He sleeps at last that "blistful sleep
From which non ever wakes to weep;"
Ner fervent prayers, not tears that fell
Like rain, had power to stay the spell:
And yet, oh God, we know 't was well!

Oh help our stricked hearts to bow
Our Father! to thy mandate now:
And teach us, when this life is o'er,
To join HIM on that "farther shore"
Where parting cometh--never more.
