DIED--BROWN--In this city, on the 18th inst., Elbert Abbott, only child of J. Bracton and Kate Brown, aged 1 year, 11 months and 14 days.

We loved thee, our darling,
Our bright baby-boy;
With thy prattle so winning
Thou wert our chief joy.

With thee all was gladness,
This world seemed our home,
But now all is sadness--
We are stricken and lone.

And we're thinking and dreaming
Of the home that is thine,--
Of the sunlight there beaming,--
Of the glories divine,--

Of the crown thou are wearing,--
Of the harp is thy hand,--
Of thy voice so soon joining,
With that glorified band,

In chorus of praise
To Him who hath given,
To their infantile lays
The sweet rapture of heaven.

And we'll strive and we'll pray,
That those joys and that home
May be ours in that day
When our Father says come.
