Nellie Brown, a young lady 17 years of age, the daughter of Peter Brown, living south of Lowther was almost fatally burned last Tuesday afternoon She was with her father in the field where he was plowing and noticed some waste burning on the railroad track a short distance away and went over and attempted to stamp it out. Her clothing caught tire and the greater portion of it was burned from her body. Her cries attracted her father’s attention and he quickly ran to her assistance but before the fire could be put out she was badly burned around the thighs, hips and waist. Her arms were also burned. The poor girl was removed to the house as soon as possible and medical aid summoned. The extent of the burns is such that her recovery is doubtful.—Elma New Era.
