JOHNSON:
Clinton G. Johnson passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 1907, at San Jose, Calif., from an attack of apoplexy, living but a short time after he was stricken while engaged in his occupation as a carpenter.
The deceased was a brother of William and Charles Johnson, of this place, Emory Johnson, of Elk River, Minn., and Ede Johnson. He was born in Illinois in 1848, and came with his parents to Iowa in 1854, settling on the farm now owned by Ben Headington in Orleans Township. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, having enlisted at the age of 16. Sept. 15, 1872, he was united in marriage with Hester Ames, who with two sons, Ned and Ellis, of San Jose, and a daughter, Mrs. J. Lawrence, survive to mourn his loss.
The deceased was a resident of this county for over thirty years, removing from here to Spencer, Ia , and later to California.
