Daniel Fallgatter Dead.
Daniel Fallgatter answered the final summons on Sunday last. His death, although daily expected, was nevertheless a shock to the community. The funeral was held Tuesday from his late residence, the services being conducted by Rev. Cain, of the Congregational church. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in the county. One hundred and forty teams followed the remains to the cemetery.— Elma New Era.

The Passing of a Pioneer.
Daniel Fallgatter was born in Clayman, Wisconsin, April 10, 1848. He died at his home in Elma, June 3, 1906, after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held t the family residence and were conducted ay{sic} Rev. F. E. Cain, of the Congregational church, assisted by the I. O. O. F., of which Mr. Fallgatter was a member. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and three brothers.
The funeral was an unusually large one and there were more than one hundred and forty carriages in the procession that followed the remains to the cemetery, thus testifying to the high esteem in which he was held by his many neighbors. Among the relatives and friends from abroad who who {sic} were present were: A. W. Fallgatter and Walter Fallgatter, of Parker, South Dakota; Mr. Fallgatter and Walter Fallgatter, both of Marshalltown, Iowa; J. B. Tracy of Green, Ia.; Mrs. C. K. Beck and Mrs. Augusta Beck of Charles City, Iowa; Mesdames Carpenter, Dunton, Tyrrell and Dunton, of Riceville and Mrs. P. J. McGrane of New Hampton. In the spring of 1864, Mr. Fallgatter removed from Wisconsin and came to Iowa, locating at the present home where he resided continuously until his death. He was married October 30, 1877 to Elizabeth Beaumaster. To them were born three children, Emma,, Mary (Mrs. O. A. Dunton) and Boris. He was a progressive, thrifty farmer and always took a keen interest in public affairs. At the time of his death he was secretary of the Elma Co-operative Creamery Co , a trustee of Howard township, and a member of the school board of the Independent districe{sic} of Elma. He was trustee continuously for about thirty years, and was serving his fifth term on the school boad,{sic} part of which time he was president.
Mr. Fallgatter was a good citizen, a splendid neighbor, a true and faithful husband and father. His jovial, friendly disposition won him a host of friends who unite with the stricken family to mourn his death.—Elma New Era.
