Cresco relatives received word Tuesday of the death the day previously of Mrs. James Thomson at the home of her son Ed in Montana where she had removed from Cresco only a few weeks ago. She has been ill for some time but the news of her sudden death was quite unexpected. The remains will be brought to Cresco for interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery beside her husband. The funeral will be held at the Congregational church on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.

Dora Weston was born June 8, 1839, at Weston, Vermont, where her father was engaged in manufacturing wooden ware. About 1859, the family moved to Iowa and settled near Cresco and for about two years the deceased was engaged in teaching school.
On Oct. 30, 1861, she was married to James Thomson and to them were born two daughters and one son, Mrs. C. R. Potter, of Hood River, Oregon, Mrs. Nellie S. Horton, who died in 1901, and Edgar J. Thomson, of Seattle, Washington.
Deceased was one of seven children, having four sisters and two brothers, of whom Mrs. Kate Prann, of Cresco, Ephraim Weston, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Charles Weston, of Wells, Minn., are still living, three sisters having gone before,
Mrs. Thomson passed away at the home of her son in Seattle, Wash., on Feb. 4, 1906, aged 66 years 7 months and 26 days.
The remains were brought to Cresco, for interment in the family lot in Oak Lawn, the funeral being held Sunday afternoon from the Congregational church.
