Mrs. Anna McLaughlin was taken sick of influenza last February, from which she never fully recovered.
She was born in Ireland in 1834, and came to Boston, Mass., when a child. She was married to James McLaughlin in 1855, and came to Howard county and settled in New Oregon in 1865. Her husband died some 23 years ago. She was the mother of ten children, seven of which survive her, two sons and five daughters.
She died at her home in Cresco, Friday morning October 6, 1905.
