Mrs. Fitzgerald, the aged mother of Mrs. D. A. Lyons and Mrs. F. A. Glass, passed away last Friday afternoon at the home of the former, from heart failure and pneumonia, Induced by a severe attack of lagrlppe. The funeral was held yesterday morning from the Church of the Assumption.

FITZGERALD.
Died in Cresco, Iowa, Friday, February 10, 1905, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. D. A. Lyons, Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald, aged 85 years.
Mary Horen was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, in 1820 and came to the United States in 1838. She was married in Boston, Mass., in 1845, to Patrick Fitzgerald and four years later moved to Illinois. In 1858 they joined the ranks of the pioneer settlers of Winnesheik{sic} county.
Six children were born to them: Thos. Fitzgerald of St Paul, Mrs. E. W. Brown of New York City, J. J. Fitzgerald and Mrs. M. F. Daly of Madison, S. D., Mrs. F. A. Glass and Mrs. D. A. Lyons of this city, all of whom are left to mourn the loss of a dear mother.
Mr. Fitzgerald died in 1873, and since that time she has made her home with her children, endearing herself to all with whom she came in contact, through her cheerful disposition and thoughtful kindness.
The funeral was held from the Church of the Assumption and she was laid to rest in St. Joseph’s cemetery.

We hear of the death of Mrs. Fitzgerald at the home of her daughter Mrs. D. A. Lyons in Cresco on Friday. Many years ago Mrs. Fitzgerald was a resident of our township and lived on the farm now owned by Will Stockman.

Transcriber’s Note: Calvary Cresco Cemetery shows a Mary Fitzgerald who was married to Patrick Fitzgerald and a reference that his body was moved from St. Agnes to Calvary after she died.
