Just as we are ready to go to press, we learn of the death of old Mrs. Kellow. Further notice of her life will be given later. She was quite aged and had been in feeble health for some time.

Another Early Settler Called-
Thursday night Mrs. Maria Kellow, passed away at the age of 80 years 6 months and 21 days. She was born in England, her maiden name being Maria Rawle. December 1, 1845, she was united in marriage with William Kellow who survives her. In 1853 they came to America and in 1856 became residents of this county, locating on the farm now owned and occupied by M. H. Tinker. Seven children were born to them, five of whom are living and were present at her funeral. They are Mrs. John Blackburn of Cresco, Mrs. Young of St. Paul, Joseph C. Kellow of New Albin, Wm. Kellow Jr., and S. R. Kellow of Cresco.
Thursday morning as was his custom, Mr. Kellow started the breakfast, leaving his wife in bed. Hearing a noise in her room he found she had fallen when getting from bed, probably from paralysis, was unable to speak, losing all conscousness{sic} a few hours later and passing away near midnight.
A faithful wife, a good mother, a kind neighbor and friend has gone to her reward.

Transcriber’s Note: She is buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery
