Tuesday the funeral of the late J. Lauda, who died at Independence last week, was brought to Protivin for its final resting place. The deceased was for a number of years an inmate of the insane hospital at Independence. It is reported that toward the end of his life he came to perfect senses, but another enemy-- consumption had hold of him. He leaves a wife and four children who for the past four years have been in Protivin in the millinery business.
