Sudden Demise.
J. A. Galusha was stricken with paralysis at 5 o’clock Monday evening and crossed to the other side at 11 p. m. He was a most genial and compaionable{sic} man, a good citizen and a true friend. While he had not been a very rigid man for years, yet he was enjoying life and comfortable health. The morning prior to his death we met him on the street in his usual health and as cheerful as usual.

Obituary.
John Adams Galusha was born at North Rennington, Vermont, November 8, 2827{sic} and died in Cresco February 11, 1901, aged 73 years 3 months and 3 days. When seven years of age his parents removed from Vermont to Danville, Illinois, where, and at Sidney and Homer in the same state, he continued to reside until 1882 conducting a general merchandise business in connection with grain and lumber. In 1882 he came to Howard county locating at Bonair and engaging in buying grain there. In 1888 he removed to Cresco, where he continued to reside to the time of his death. He leaves a widow, three daughters and one son to mourn his death. Two of the daughters Zilla and May reside at Spencer, Iowa, and Flora at Danville, Ill. and Amos D. mail railway postal clerk whose home is Cresco. The children all came to attend the funeral which occurred at his late home Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Robinson officiating, the pall bearers being W. F. Rathert, Daniel Barnes, F. A. Glass, Charles Graf, C. C. Upton and I. J. Booth. The deceased was a genial man, a good citizen, neighbor and friend and was highly esteemed for his noble qualities of head and heart. He was on the streets as usual during the day, and at about 5 p. m. he had a paralytic shock which terminated his life a few hours later. The PLAIN DEALER sympathises with those bereaved.

Mr. Galusha was the father of A. D. Galusha, of this city. The latter did not learn of his father’s affliction until too late to reach him before death.
