Mrs. Mary E. Sutton, widow of Royal T. Suttion,{sic} died at the home of her son, Sardus A. Sutton in Orleans twp., three miles east of Cresco, Sunday morning, February 3, 1901, at 5:30, aged 80 years the 8th of January 1901. She was a native of New York where she was married with Royal T. Sutton who preceeded her to join the great majority in 1871. In 1853 they moved west and located at Postville, removing to Afton, in this county, sometime in 1856, where they resided to within about three years of his death. They then located on the farm where she died and where her husband, had passed away. She was the mother of four sons, only two of whom survive, S. A., who resides in Orleans, and Frank G., who resides in St. Louis. The funeral will be at the Congregational church this Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the interment at Oak Lawn where her husband’s remains repose.
