OBITUARY.
Betsey A. Ostrander died at her home in Busti, Saturday, Nov. 26, 1904.
Deceased was born at North East, Erie Co., Pa., Sept. 25, 1846, and came to Iowa about 1869. On the 8th of December, 1867, she was married to A. O. Rowley. They were the parents of nine children, seven girls and two boys, which survive her. About seven years ago Mrs. Rowley began to suffer from bronchial trouble and gradually grew worse until there was not much help for her. Ever since last December she has been very feeble, for a few days she would feel quite well then in a short time she would suffer a relapse. The past two months Mr. Rowley has been planning to take her south, as that seemed to be all the chance there was left for her to gain her health, but he saw she was too feeble to stand the journey so did not start with her. Ever since last Wednesday she grew worse and died of quick consumption.
Besides her husband and her father, G. W. Ostrander, also a brother G. S. Ostrander, of Bland, New Mexico, she leaves the following children: Mrs. Allen, V. S. Rowley, F. B. Rowley. Mrs. Barr, Mrs. Field, Mrs. Reetz, Mrs. Sharp, and Nina and Estelle Rowley. The funeral was held at her home Tuesday, Nov. 29th. Rev. Hunt, of Riceville, officiating.— Elma New Era.Transcriber’s Note: Find-A-Grave indicates she is buried in Howard Cemetery; however it shows her date of birth as December 25, 1846.
