O. C. Burdick Dead.
To the surprise of all, a telegram was received yesterday stating that O. C. Burdick was dead and asking what disposition to make of the body. He was at Lokeba, Oklahoma, where he went for his health about three weeks ago and was residing with Mrs. Burdick’s sister and mother. Until within a few days he was thought to be improving. The remains of O. C. Burdick expected to arrive on the 12:50 train today, In charge of Mrs. Burdick’s mother. The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Baptist church.

OBITUARY.
O. C. Burdick was born near Elkader, Iowa, in 1859 and died at Lokeba, Oklahoma, April 25,1904. In 1885, at Fon du Lac, Wis., he was married to Miss Ida A. Pasco. To them were born two children, Luverne H. and Erva R.
The family came to Cresco a few years ago and since that time have won a large measure of esteem from all with whom they have met. Mr. Burdick was a man of quiet habits and disposition and to his intimate friends was known to be a man of unquestioned integrity and high character.
The funeral was held Friday afternoon from the Baptist church, Rev. Smith officiating. The M. W. A., of which the deceased was a member, conducted the services at the grave. He also belonged to the Northern Lights Lodge, of Odd Fellows, of Minneapolis and Iola Lodge of Rebeccas, of Minneapolis, of which both he and Mrs. Burdicek{sic} were charter members. He also belonged to the R. N. A. who with the M. W. A. attended the funeral in a body.
The interment was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
Among those from a distance attending the funeral were Mrs. G. F. Pasco and Mr. Henry U. Lee, of Minneapolis and Mesdames Win. Burrell, Geo. Beattie and Hartman, of Fayette, Iowa.Transcriber’s Note: Oak Lawn Cemetery records indicate his first name was Osman.
