Mrs. A. G. Genshow died yesterday morning after a long and painful illness. We are without particulars but will publish an obituary next Friday.

OBITUARY.
GENSHOW.
Mrs. Emlie Louise Genshow, formerly Trieberger, was born May 7th, 1845, at Auirbach, Sachsen-Alsenburg, Germany
Soon after birth the child was baptized, brought to Christ and received into His church.
She went to school from 6 to 14 years of age and was confirmed after a careful instruction in religious and christian life. After confirmation she worked for a family in the town where she was born, to earn her own living.
In 1864 she came with her mother, her father having died, to this country, to Elkader, Iowa.
In 1866 she was married to Gustav Genshow, the mourning widower. Two children were born to them, a son and a daughter, both living to mourn the loss of the beloved mother.
Mr. Genshow and his wife moved from Clayton county to Winnesheik{sic} county on a farm near Plymouth Rock, wehre they farmed for about 6 years. In 1872 they came to Cresco and lived in this place for 14 years. They then moved to St Paul, living there 12 years and in 1898 came back to Cresco.
Three years ago she had an operation for cancer, but found only temporary relief. The terrible sickness came on and slowly but surely destroyed her health and strength. She suffered much pain was always patient and resigned to God’s will, always saying as a true christian: “God’s will be done.”
Last Sunday a week ago, she received the Lord’s supper and prayed then to God to take her home. Her prayers were answered last Monday, about 11 o’clock. She was taken away from this poor earth by a gentle death.
She brought her life to 58 years, 6 months and 2 days.
She was a sincere christian, a faithful member of the German Lutheran church, a loving wife and mother, respected by all who knew her. May she rest in peace till the great Day of Resurection.{sic}
Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Rev. Neidermeier officiating.Transcriber's Note: The cemetery records indicate her first name spelled Emilie; also her maiden name spelled as Triberger.
