Lawrence A Hageman, age 82, of Cresco, a dear father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa.

Lawrence was born July 25, 1936 in rural Winneshiek County, Iowa to Alphonse and Lauretta (Gerleman) Hageman, the 2nd oldest of 5 children. Upon finishing school, Lawrence was drafted into the Army and served for 2 years. He was united in marriage to Gladys Anderson on April 29, 1961 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Decorah, Iowa.

He delivered US mail, drove tour bus for Hawkeye Stages, farmed on family homestead in Cresco, delivered trailers for Alum-Line, and later retired as Tool & Die Machinist at Deco Products. Lawrence and Gladys enjoyed socializing and playing cards with many family members and friends. There were very few parties or events they missed. He was very proud of and never missed a chance to visit with the grandchildren and great grandchild.

Lawrence is survived by 2 sons: Wayne (Karen) of Cresco, and David "Charlie" (Kathy) of Decorah; 6 grandchildren: Kayla Hageman of Riverside, IA, Tracy Hageman of Cresco, Alissa Hageman of Indianola, IA, Sydney, Shelby, and Brody Hageman of Decorah; great grandson Sebastian Alan of Cresco. He is survived by 2 siblings: Gene Hageman of Harmony, MN and Irma Tenge of New Hampton, IA; sister-in-laws: Louise Vander Sanden and Lorraine (Roger) Nolden of Sun Prairie, WI, Ellen (Arlon) Brown of Mabel, MN, Verna (Willard) Hanson of Decorah, Gloria (Leo) Bartlett and Donna Anderson of Sun Prairie, WI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Gladys in May 2016, and siblings Ruth and Bill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Howard County Hospice or Notre Dame School.

He will be laid to rest at the Calvary Cemetery in Cresco.
