OBITUARY.
Mrs. Fred T. Gallup, whose serious illness we mentioned in our last issue, passed away Monday evening after an illness of about two weeks, from peritonitis, following an attack of la grlppe. For several months she has had the care of her invalid sister, Mrs. Reynolds, and her overwork brought on her Illness, which, however was not considered dangerous until the day proceeding her death.
Alice Mae Field was born at Clay, Onondaga Co. N. Y. in 1848. Her parents were John and Sophia Field, both of whom have preceeded her to the to the{sic} better land, the former dying in 1897, the latter in 1902. April 9, 1869, at Vernon Springs, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Fred T. Gallup, who with their two daughters, Mrs. Grace E. Horton, of Ft. Atkinson, Ia., and Mrs. Mae Belle Andrews, of Storm Lake, Ia., remain to mourn the loss of a true wife and mother in every sense of the word. Two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Reynolds, of Cresco, and Mrs. Etta D. Tibbets, of Blaine Kan., survive her, a third sister, Mrs. John Mulholland dying several years ago.
In March, 1901, Mrs. Gallup united with the Congregational church of Cresco.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the house, conducted by Rev. Eakin, her pastor, assisted by Rev. Riddlington, a neighbor and friend of the family. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The loved form finds a resting place n Oak Lawn Cemetery beslde.her father and mother.
The sympathy of all goes out to the grief stricken husband, daughters and family in their sad affliction.
