Death of A. D. Combs.
From Chester Herald.
Monday, March 23, closed a long, eventful life—on that day the spirit of A. D. Combs passed beyond the boundary. Taken ill with pneumonia his constitution, with its weight of many years, was unable to withstand the shock.
In the decease of Capt. Combs not only this community, but all who knew him, have lost a loyal citizen and a kind benefactor. He was a man of character, conviction and courage, and no matter what the cause of the misfortune, his heart beat for others’ woes and his hand was always extended in sympathetic solicitation for the happiness and harmony of all.
Funeral services occurred Wednesday at the Presbyterian church, Rev. Mr. McCullagh delivering a beautiful address. The pastor, Rev. Mr.Hydeu, assisted. The remains were interred in Chester Hill cemetery.Transcriber's Note: Chester Hill Cemetery indicates he was born October 20, 1820 and died March 23, 1903.
