The aged father of Ned Carman died at the home of the latter, where he has made his home for several years, on Saturday afternoon. His death was the result of old age and its resulting weakness.

CARMAN.
Nelson Carman was born in Orleans county, New York, July 12, 1819, and died at the home of his son in Cresco Satudray,{sic} March 15, 1903. In 1849 he went to California, where he remained five years gathering a fortune. He then returned to New York by way of Cape Horn and settled in Lockport. He remained here in business until 1888, when, a short time after the death of his wife, he came to Howard county; since which time he has made his home with the family of his son Nelson, an only child.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Gammons.
