“Painful Occurrence—It becomes our painful duty as a public journalist to announce that Mrs. O. G. Talmadge, a daughter of Wm. A. Webster, living near Howard Centre, came to here{sic}death on Saturday night last by voluntarily drowning herself during a temporary period of mental aberration. It seems that for some time she has been subject to times of despondency and wandering of the mind, but not to such an extent that her friends apprehended dangerous consequences. She leaves a husband, son and daughter to mourn her loss. She was loved by all who knew her many virtues and womanly qualities.”

Transcriber's Note: Howard Center Cemetery shows this was Harriet; however, their records indicate the spelling of the last name as Talmage.
