Word comes that Geo. Atkins, who lives towards Saratoga, was accidently drowned Wednesday. After eating his breakfast he had gone out to work about the barnyard. About three o’clock, the time at which the family ate dinner, his wife noticed his absence and went out to the hog yard thinking that perhaps some accident had befallen him there. Not finding him she chanced to look into the watering tank and there discovered his body beneath sixteen or eighteen inches of water, cold in death. It is presumed that he lost consciousness in a fit and fell into the tank. The unfortunate man was 34 years did and leaves a wife and three small children. He has long been subject to epileptic fits and could get no life insurance.
