Mrs. H. C. Middlebrook died very unexpectedly Sunday night. She had been indisposed, but not so but she was about, we understand, until Sunday afternoon, when she was taken worse, dying in a few hours thereafter Obituary hereafter.

Josephine Middlebrook, wife of H. C. Middlebrook, died Sunday, evening, December 29, after an illnes{sic} of but a few hours.
Mrs. Middle rook got up as usual in the morning, but not feeling well, layed down again, and mothering serious was anticipated. During the afternoon she became worse, and the family physician was called, and even then she was not considered dangerously ill. She was suffering from the grip and quinsy; hemorrhage setting in, she expired in a few moments.
Joseph Sawyer, second daughter of Charles and Jane Sawyer, was born in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, October, 1854. She came to Iowa with her parents in February, 1856. Early in life Mrs. Middlebrook united with the M. E. church, and was a devoted member of the Cresco church at the time of her death. She was married to Hobard Middlebrook August, 1888, died at her home in Cresco, Dec. 28, 1902.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesdya, at 10:00 a. m., conducted by Rev. Gammons. Interment in Oak Lawn.--Cresco Republican.
