J. C. Adams Dead.
At 1:30 Monday morning, November 10th the spirit of J. C. Adams returned to him who gave It. Deceased was a native of Kentucky, born in 1842, and hence was about 60 years of age. He had been in the newspaper business in Iowa for several years removed to South Dakota where he had conducted the same business, coming to Cresco and purchasing the Howard County Times in the spring of 1893 having been its publisher since that time. He was a soldier in the civil war receiving a gun shot wound in the leg, which had been the cause of a great deal of trouble to him ever since, and which was the cause of his death. He was an enterprising newspaper man, a good neighbor, a good citizen, always cheerful and good natured, and had a host of friends. His funeral will be to-day, at 2 p. m., from the residence, the interment in Oaklawn, and the funeral will probably be conducted by the G. A. R., of which he was a member.Transcriber’s Note: According to the cemetery records this was James C. Adams
