STE1NMITZ.
Mr. Bernard Steinmetz died at his home in Orleans township, Oct. 21, 1902. Deceased was born near Spillville, Iowa, Feb. 2, 1865, was therefore 37 years, 8 months, 20 days old. He was married to Miss Anna Kreitzer, Aug. 26, 1890. There was born to them six children, all of whom are living.
Mr. Steinmetz was afflicted the past two years with Bright’s disease of the kidneys and a few days before his death erysipelas set in terminating his earthly career.
The funeral took place at the German Catholic church in Cresco conducted by Rev. Father Loosbrock. Interment in St. Joseph’s cemetery.
Mr. Steinmetz leaves, beside his wife and family, an aged mother, five brothers and five sisters. All have the sympathy of their many friends and neighbors in their sad affliction.

Transcriber’s Note: His last name is spelled two different ways; however his gravestone shows Steinmetz. His gravestone also shows his first name spelled as Barnard.
