HERRICK—At the home of his son, eight miles north-west of Ipswich, Friday October 3, 1902, Samuel Herrick, aged 82 years and 15 days.
Mr. Herrick came to Ipswich with his wife and son W. E. in 1883. He lived in the city for several years and the balance of the time on the farm of his son. We have known him since his arrival here, and have never heard a word said of him but to his credit, he was a man of kind heart, fine disposition and was a good neighbor.
Samuel Herrick was born Sept 11, 1820, in Tioga couty{sic}, N. Y. Was married to Jane E. Herman in 1854 at Boalsburgh, Pa. Emigrated to Iowa, and from there to South Dakota. He leaves a wife and three sons, E. G., J. C. and W. E. Herrick, and hundreds of warm friends to mourn his death.
Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Sunday afternoon, Rev. E. B. TreFethren officiating.—South Dakota Tribune.
