Mrs. Geo. Burnikel, Mrs. Lou Oderdof, Mrs. E. E. Frank and Mrs. Joe Burnikel, all of whom were called to Cresco on account of the death of their father, John Ohmacht, returned to their homes in Chicago on the l0th instant.

Obituary
John Frederick William Omacht was born Feb. 5, 1827, in Krusmanshagen, Prussia Germany. In 1854 he emigrated with his parents to America and located in Cook county, Ill.; thence he came to Iowa. In 1854, he was united in marriage with Caroline Asmus, this union was blessed with three daughters and one son. On the 8th of October 1859, he was bereft of his dear wife through the band of death. On the l6th of October, 1860, he was married to his now mourning wife, which the Lord blessed with five sons and three daughters, one son of his first wife, two sons and one daughter of his second wife proceeded the father to the better world. In 1858, under the labors of Rev. Lechler, Bro. Omacht was converted to God and joined the Evangelical Association, in which he endeavored to be loyal to God and the church to his blessed end. He suffered at times very severe during about ten years, but he bore his suffering with great patience and resignation to God’s will, his aim was to be a kind hearted husband to his life companion, a true father to his children, and peaceable to all his neighbors. On Oct. 9, 1900, he departed for heaven at 75 years 8 months and 4 days. May the Lord grant them a reunion in heaven.
