OBITUARY.
PLANK.
Henry Plank was born July 15,1815, in Zvingenberg Hessen Darmstadt Germany. Coming to America, Sept. 15,1835, he first settled in Scotland county, Missouri, where he married Maria Curns in 1837. In 1838 he moved to a farm In Fulton county, Illinois, where he remained 32 years and where eight children were born to them and two girls and one boy died in their childhood, and five boys arc left which are all here to mourn his death. In 1889 he moved from Illinois to a farm in Allamakee county, Iowa, where he remained eight years and moved since to a farm in Howard county, Iowa, where they remained till 1898 and then moved to a farm in Winneshiek county, Iowa, where he died Sept 28, 1900, aged 85 years 2 months and 15 days.
Henry Plank, a former resident of Paris township, died at the home of his son, John H. Plank, in Winneshiek county, Friday, Sept 28th, aged 85 years, and was buried in New Oregon Cemetery. The deceased came to this county over 25 years ago and was the owner of the farm now owned by Thos. Soukup near Lourdes. After which he owned the Hanson farm one mile south of Crcsco. A good citizen has gone. He was a native of Germany coming to this county when a young man.
