Obituary.
Ida Mary Martha Mohr, was born September 28, 1863, at Watertown, Jefferson county, Wis., and soon after her birth was baptized in the German Lutheran church there. In 1870, she came to Howard county with her mother and grandparents. She attended public school with good success and was confirmed by Rev. Jungk of Ridgeway. In 1890, Nov. 21st, she married Emil Mohr and this marriage was blessed with the birth of two children, a daughter, Georgina and a son Werner, both living to mourn the loss of their mother. Ten years ago she contracted the Asthma, which terminated last fall in a disease of the lungs. She was confined in bed for about six weeks and suffered very severely during the hot days in June. During her sickness she longed for the consolation of God’s word and took the Holy communion Friday, July 20th. Sunday morning at 2 o’clock, God called her away from life, by quiet death. Funeral service at the home of the deceased and at the cemetery at New Oregon was conducted by Rev. C. Niedermeier, July 24, 1900. The text of the funeral sermon was chosen from the 11th chapter of St. John, 25-20 verses.
