Mrs. Jennie Serfling sank to rest on the morning of the 8th, after a protracted illness (consumption). She was a patient sufferer, grateful for all the kindness shown her, and repeatedly spoke of the loving care of mother Serfling and uncle Leene, as she called H. O. Serfling. We are told that she remained conscious and bade all at her bedside farewell, and about the last words were, “O, death comes so slow.” Thus went out one of those beautiful lives that goes so far toward making a heaven on this earth. The funeral was largely attended. The floral offerings were choice and profuse, among them was an elegant wreath of snow-white blossoms presented by the Granger school children and placed upon the casket by their teacher
Transcriber’s Note: In Find-A-Grave there is a Jennie (Morton) Serfling listed who was born July 11, 1872 and died this same date. This is possibly the same person; however, no cemetery information.
