A Sad Death
Tuesday morning, February 6, at 4:13 occurred the death of little Olive Fern Thomas, at the age of fourteen mouths and eleven days.
The little one was taken ill with convulsions Monday afternoon at about three o’clock and all the aid of medical skill proved in vain. Loving parents and kind friends tenderly nursed the little sufferer, and Dr. Barrett, of Cresco, was called for consultation with Dr. Lewis. Everything that could be done failed to relieve her until yesterday at about four a. m., when she fell asleep never to awaken here again, and at a quarter past four her little soul was claimed by its Maker and little Fern was at rest forever.
Short funeral services will be held at the home here to-morrow morning, conducted by Rev. Hendricks, and services, conducted by Rev. Holmes, will be held at the Congregational church at Cresco, at 2 p. in., interment being in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The sympathy of hosts of friends goes out to the parents whose hearts are torn and whose home is made desolate by the death of this beloved child.— Ridgeway Record.
