Funeral services for Frank Jackson were held at 11:00. am. on Saturday, July 6 at First Lutheran Church in Cresco with Intern Anna Tews officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco. Pallbearers were his grandchildren: Abraham Jackson, Gene Wenthold, Darcy Wenthold, Justin Jackson, Luke Lubahn, Jackson Smith, Heide Jackson, Shannon Reis, Kathy Lubahn, and Emma Smith. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Frank, 78, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at the Regional Health Services of Howard County.
Frank Jackson and his twin sister were born June 4, 1924 at Bettendorf to Alice May Shannon-Jackson and Benjamin LeRoy Jackson. There were seven children born to the marriage and when their mother died, the children were split-up, the younger children spent time in an orphanage in Toledo Juvenile Home. Frank and his twin sister, Frances were raised on a farm near Chimney Rock by Ruth and Albert Benson. Frank remained with the Bensons until his marriage.
On October 20, 1948 he married Nancy Ann Eaton. Frank was employed by Culbert’s Implement Farm Service, operated his own milk route and worked for Surge for 28 years before he retired.
He volunteered for the Cresco fire Dept., was a Sunday School teacher, 4-H advisor and a membr{sic} of the Cresco Saddle Club.
Frank enjoyed horses, gardening, yard work, bowling, birds, and going for drives along the river.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; his children: Ken of Waseca, MN, Keith of Clinton, Ruthie Wenthold of Cresco, Bernie of Cresco, Bev Lubahn of Wykoff, MN, and Linda Smith of White Bear Lake, MN; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his brothers and sisters: Wilber of Gilman, Ben of Cresco. Frances Langholf of Alburquerque, NM, Agnes Williams of Eldora, Mary Hautekeek of Grinnell, and Opal McDonald of What Cheer.
Frank was preceded in death by one son: Larry; his parents; and one sister: Dorothy.
