Carol J. Burke 49, Lime Springs
Services were held for Carol Burke, of Lime Springs, on Thursday, January 10, 2002 at the St. Joseph’s Worship Center in Cresco, Iowa. The Rev. Henry W. Charipar officiated.
Carol Burke, 49, died unexpectedly, Saturday, January 5 at her home in Lime Springs, Iowa.
Carol Jean Burke was born on August 3, 1952 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Randak) Craft. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Cresco and continued her education to become a licensed practical nurse.
On January 31, 1971, she was united in marriage to William Burke at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Cresco, Iowa. They became the parents of three children: Kim, Tina and Cary. For a short period of time, they lived in Brownsdale, Minnesota before moving back to Cresco. Carol was working at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. She liked to collect animated toys and Dale Earnhardt memorabilia.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; her children: Kim and her husband Roland Shever of Knoxville, Iowa, Tina Burke of Cresco, Iowa, and Cary and her husband, Nathan Hafeman of Cresco, Iowa; twelve grandchildren: Nathan Burke, Samantha Burke, Hunter Shever and Brianna Shever, Christopher Burke, Jordan Burke, Tyler Burke and Amber Burke, Bruce Hagaman, Billie Hagaman, Bobbie Hagaman and Bailey Hagaman; her parents: Harold and Helen Craft of Cresco, Iowa; two brothers: Roger Craft of Cresco, Iowa and Harold Craft, Jr. of West Concord, Minnesota; three sisters: Donna Kelly of Cresco, Iowa, Ruth and her husband, David Shimek of Rochester, Minnesota and Diane and her husband, Steve Grandhandt of Grass Valley, California.
Carol was preceded in death by one sister: Connie Craft.
