James E. Boyle
ALTA VISTA - James E. Boyle, 56, Alta Vista, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at Innovis Hospital, Fargo, ND of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral Services were 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at Immaculate Conception Church, Elma with Reverend John Hemann presiding. Barbara Boyle was the organist and accompanied the I.C. Church Choir singing, "Be Not Afraid", "One Bread, One Body" and "How Great Thou Art'. Donna Bodensteiner and Linda Wedemeier sang "On Eagle's Wings". Lectors for the service were Donna Bodensteiner and Mike Boyle. Fahy and Barbara Scnluesner presented the offertory gifts, Judy Hilsman was a Eucharistic Minister.
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Elma with Tom Buckley, Tom Boyle, Joe Meirick, Peter Heying, Pat Boyle, Jr. Ross Hilsman, Frank Mueterthies, Matt Boyle, Kraig Boyle and Bill Boyle serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Duane Gerhardt, Virgil Cox, Virgil Marvin and Steve Recker.
Visitation was from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma, where there was a 4 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture Service.
James Edward Boyle was born Aug. 26, 1945 in Elma, the son of Charles Patrick and Clara (Knippling) Boyle. He graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy, Elma. After his schooling he tiled for Ron Hoffman and Virgil Dykes, worked road construction for Clem Smith Construction in New Hampton and also worked for Linus Lentz. He was united in marriage to Leigh Schleusner on Nov. 15, 1969 at St. Ignatius Church, Spring Valley, MN. Following their marriage the couple lived in Elma until 1976 when they moved to Alta Vista. He worked as a farm hand for Dale Meirick for seven years, then at the Elevator in Alta Vista. He later began his trucking career hauling grain for Clarence Kobliska, and later Cliff Norman. In 1985 he became an owner-operator and contracted with Warren Transport where he was currently trucking. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #4144 in Elma.
Survivors include his wife, Leigh; a daughter, Rachel, Houston, TX; two sisters, Norma Buckley, Elma and Judy (Ronald) Hilsman, Waterloo and two brothers, John (Ardel) Boyle, Elma and Charles (Barbara) Boyle, Elma.
Preceding him in death were his parents; four sisters, Eleanor Flail, Bernice Heying, Madonna Mueterthies and Marjorie Meirick and a brother, Patrick Boyle.
