Services held tor Elmer Ladwig, 78
Funeral services for Elmer “Bud” Ladwig were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16 at First Lutheran Church in Cresco with Rev. Gary K. Lee officiating. Interment was in New Oregon Cemetery. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Elmer, 78, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002.
Elmer J. Ladwig was born July 16, 1923 in Winneshiek County. He lived on the family farm near Ridgeway and on August 21, 1946 he married Lillian Hanni. They spent their first years on the farm, in 1959 they moved to Ridgeway to begin their hardware business and in 1966 moved to Cresco where they established Ladwig Plumbing. Bud retired in 1992.
He is survived by his wife Lillian; his children: Dale of Plymouth, MN; one daughter: Susan Diddams of the West Indies; three grandchildren; and one sister: Marion Symonds of Decorah.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Arlis; and two sisters: Arlene Rider and Leone Ernst.
