Mrs. J. L. Evans died Sunday afternoon and the funeral will be this afternoon from the Baptist church. Obituary will appear later.

EVANS—Mrs. J. L. Evans died May 7, 1899, of pneumonia, aged 55 years 3 months and 20 days, and was buried at Oak Lawn.
Cynthia Ann Goss was born in Upper Canada, Jan. 17, 1844, later moved to the state of Illinois with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M, G. Goss. In 1854 moved to Iowa where she has resided till her death. In Jan. 1, 1861, she was married to Josiah L. Evans. Seven children were born to them, two daughters and five sons. Two sons and her husband preceeded her to the Great Beyond. Two brothers, Alonzo Goss, of Lincoln, Neb., and Milan G. Goss, of Carney, Oklahoma, and two sisters, Mrs. M. J. Clugston, of Yates Center, Kan., and Mrs. Harriet Hamilton, of Colorado, live to mourn her loss. Alonzo Goss was in attendance at the funeral.

Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Baker and Mrs. Kellow went to Cresco to-day to attend the funeral of Mrs. B.’s sister-in-law, Mrs. Evans.
