Peter Gilbranson, Living in Saratoga, Shoots Himself.
P. W. Clark of Saratoga wrote us Tuesday morning that Peter Gilbranson, a Norwegian living one mile north of Saratoga committed suicide that morning, shooting himself with a revolver. Our Lime Springs correspondent, C. W. Burgess gives us fuller particulars, obtained from the coroner who resides at that place. Peter Gilbrantson was 55 years of age, he leaves a widow and two sons, 15 and 17 years of age respectively. The deceased is described as a strong, healthy appearing man, well dressed and clean. Shot himself through the heart with a revolver while at the home of Peter Nelson, a brother-in-law, April 4th 1899. He had twice before at-tempted to take his life, He was probably insane, constantly imagining that a man was before him urging him to take his own life.Source: Decorah Republican Apr. 13, 1899 P 8 C 3
