Don Henry Fifield was born at Poultnev, Va., April 4, 1837 and died after one week’s illness at Cresco, Ia., March 17, 1899, aged 61 years 11 mouths 13 days.
He was the oldest son of William and Laura Fifield. His father and only sister preceded him to the Spirit World some years ago, His aged mother and only brother await their change.
He was married to Emma Clark on Dec. 11, 1863, to them three children were given, George Fifleld and Willie Fifield, of Cresco, Ia., and Mrs. Eva Fortner, of Bemidgi, Minn., all of whom survive their loved father and were present at the funeral.
Blessed with good, Christian parents he grew up a good and honest man.
During the pastorate of Rev. C. C. Marsh, he came into the membership of the Cresco Methodist Episcopal Church and continued his relations to that church until his death, and was transferred to the Church Triumphant in Glory.
Mr. Fifield’s residence in Iowa dated from his 18th year, and for a number of years he was a citizen of Cresco.
Mrs. Fifield has the sincere sympathy of a large circle of relatives and friends.

—D. H. Fifield, of one of the pioneer families of Fremont township, died in Cresco on the 17th.
