DIED—At the home of his son, Hiram Griffin, in Bailey, Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, Rev. Abraham Griffin, aged 91 years. The deceased was a native of Canada and was one of the first settlers in Wayne township; coming here in 1856, but did not reside continuously in the township until within the past few years when he made his home with his son at Bailey. Mr. Griffin was the first pastor in the township and as early as 1856, before there was even a school-house in this part of the county, held religious services in the homes of the few settlers here at that time. Mr. Griffin leaves three sons and four daughters, a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, besides hosts of friends to mourn his loss. The remains were taken to New Oregon yesterday, where the burial will take place to-day.—Mclntire Gazette.
