PROTIVIN - Pauline Bouska, 79, Protivin, died Monday, June 4, 2001 at the Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, WI.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Protivin, with Rev. John Moser and Rev. Clarence Frana concelebrating. Music was provided by organist Marjene Pecinovsky, soloist Colleen Busta, the Holy Trinity Czech Choir and Polka by Marceline Frana.
Interment was in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Protivin, with Grandsons, Brad Lensing, Luke Bouska, Terry Bouska, Jeremiah Bouska, Charles Meyer Jr., Jason Bouska, Lance Bouska, Liberty Bouska, Dexter Lensing, Tyler Hemesath and Kristopher Haskovec serving as casket bearers.
Pauline Emma Bouska was born May 29, 1922 to Joseph and Anna (Humpal) Frana on a farm near Spillville. She attended St. Wenceslaus School. On June 2, 1941, she married Francis Bouska at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. They farmed near Protivin and moved into Protivin in 1999. She enjoyed shopping, dancing to polka music, traveling, taking pictures, gardening and being with her family. Pauline was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Czech Choir and Rosary Society.
Surviving are her husband, Francis Bouska, Cresco; six sons, Francis Jr., Freeport, George (Kathleen), New Hampton, Quentin, Minneapolis, MN, Joseph (LaVonne) and Jerry, Fort Atkinson, John, LaCrosse, Wl; four daughters, Kathleen (Charles) Meyer, Waterloo, Anita (Richard) Hemesath, Ossian, Pauline (Kenneth) Haskovec and LaDeane (Marvin) Lensing, Cresco; 32 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchidren.
Preceding her in death were her son and daughter-in-law, James and Deborah in 1984; four grandchildren, Alan and Joel Meyer and Caroline and Michael Bouska in infancy; her parents; three brothers, Adolph, Joseph and Martin Frana; six sisters, Mary Snyder, Antonia Hrdlicka, Bozena Koudelka and Adeline Berst, Emma Petrick and Lydia Ann in infancy.
Balik Funeral Home, Spillville, was in charge of arrangements.
